Drake may be a Toronto Raptors super-fan, but that’s not stopping him from reaching out to injured Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant.
In an Instagram post, the Toronto-born rapper wrote that he’s “praying” for Durant, who injured his Achilles during Monday’s NBA Finals Game 5 match-up between the Raptors and the Warriors.
“Was tough for any of us to even enjoy that game tonight after seeing this transpire,” Drake wrote. “Praying for our brother. That’s my only concern tonight is your well being.”
“‘The game needs me’ is an understatement when it comes to 35,” he added, referring to Durant’s jersey number. “Please wish the best for this true warrior.”
Prior to suffering the Achilles injury in Monday’s game, Durant had been out for a month with a calf injury.
Despite Durant going down in the second quarter, the Warriors pulled out a 106-105 win over the Raptors, who now lead the series 3-2. Game 6 will air this Thursday, June 13 on ABC.
